A favourite place for this Family photography session!
Choosing a location is important but does't need to be stressful. It can be a place I suggest for your family photography or a favourite place you love that is familiar for your little ones! I had visited this particular location for the first time when I photographed this very awesome couples engagement and wedding photography. I'll add some photos from these times to share but in the meantime, we came back here a few times over the years to document their family photography sessions as their boys grew.
From belly to running! This was also the location we captured this mamas baby belly for an evening maternity photography session. It's pretty great that I was able to capture an engagement session, wedding photography, maternity photography and multiple family photo sessions here. This makes me smile and working with this family feels like Christmas time! I would never have imagined that a girl who used to cry over math could land a Job this sweet and work with people this great!
Toddlers have a way of making everything they do, and everything around them fun! They're always the biggest goofballs in front of the camera, and always put on the silliest of silly faces. Whether it's a smile with literally all of their teeth showing, or the chummiest grin, toddlers are so much fun to have during family sessions.
There are many things I love being a Durham region family photographer, sessions with families are always the most fun. Capturing the special memories and moments in a family's life brings me so much joy. When you can look at an image and feel the love and excitement within the family, I know I've done my job. As a mother of two young girls I know the time right before a shoot. Maybe during the car ride over to the session, one of your children spilt juice all over their nice clothes, or maybe they just can't seem to keep their clothes on. Trust me. I've seen it all, and experienced it all. But these are the golden years! One of my favourite parts of my kids live so far was the toddler years, sounds crazy, I know.
Watching these little babies grow into their own people with personalities, and attitudes (so much attitude) is very special to me. Watching my daughters discover the world, and formulate opinions and memories about everything was always an amazing sight.
